Change Text Selection Colour in WordPress

To make your website stand out? You need to look at the details of other websites. One of these details that caught my eye was the way default text selection colour matched the design colour scheme rather than being the default blue colour. In this article, I will show you how to Change Text Selection Colour in WordPress theme.

Open your style sheet from your admin panel and input the following code.

Don’t forget to change the background colour to match your website.

::-moz-selection {
background-color: #1a7fae;
color: #fff;
}

::selection {
background-color: #1a7fae;
color: #fff;
}

The default ::selection selector is used by Chrome, Safari, IE9+, and Opera. Firefox likes to use their own
::-moz-selection. This is the reason why they are on two different lines of CSS.

If you try to combine them, it will not work.

I hope this article has helped you!
